Job Title: HR Manager/HRBP

Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Job Type: Full-time (Work from Office)

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to manage and strengthen HR operations at our Chennai office. The ideal candidate will oversee all post-recruitment HR functions including payroll, compliance, employee relations, attendance management, policy implementation, and employee engagement.

The role requires close coordination with employees and HR counterparts from our offices across India — hence, proficiency in both English and Hindi is essential.

This is a non-recruitment HR role focused entirely on operational excellence, compliance, and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Operations & Compliance Manage all HR operations and employee data through HR tools and software with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Oversee payroll processing, attendance tracking, leave management, and timely submission of salary inputs.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with PF, ESI, Gratuity, and other applicable labour laws.
  • Administer employee health insurance, claims, and renewals.
  • Prepare and issue offer letters, confirmation letters, salary revisions, and other HR documents.
  • Maintain compliance records including POSH, audits, and disciplinary cases.
  • Regularly review and update company HR policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct internal HR audits to ensure compliance with corporate and legal standards.
  • Employee Engagement & Relations Act as the primary point of contact for employee queries, grievances, and daily HR concerns.
  • Interact with employees across multiple office locations to ensure smooth coordination and consistent HR practices.
  • Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives, welfare programs, and recognition activities.
  • Support and facilitate performance management and employee feedback processes.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and promote a healthy workplace culture.
  • Policy & Process Implementation Develop and implement HR policies aligned with company goals and values.
  • Communicate policies effectively across departments and ensure consistent application.
  • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen organizational culture and employee satisfaction.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve HR systems and processes for efficiency.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management Liaise with management, department heads, and teams across different offices.
  • Manage external vendors related to payroll, insurance, and HR software.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure timely service delivery.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education: MBA / Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Experience: 8-10 years of experience in HR Generalist / HR Operations (non-recruitment).
  • Proficient in PF, ESI, Payroll, HRMS, Labour Law and Employee Insurance Management.
  • Strong knowledge of HR tools / software and data management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and Hindi (mandatory) – must be able to interact with employees across offices in different states.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and integrity.
  • Prior experience in IT / Consulting / Engineering Services preferred. (Candidates from staffing or manufacturing backgrounds will not be considered.)
