Laptop Technician – Field

Minimum Roles & Responsibilities

1. Hardware Support

Diagnose and repair laptop hardware issues (keyboard, battery, display, RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboard).

Replace faulty parts and test laptops after repair.

Perform preventive maintenance and basic servicing.

2. Software & OS Support

Install, upgrade, and configure operating systems (Windows/Linux).

Install required drivers, software, and antivirus.

Troubleshoot OS errors, boot issues, and software problems.

Perform data backup and restore when required.

3. Field Service Activities

Visit customer locations as per service schedule.

Understand customer issues and provide on-site solutions.

Coordinate with office/support team for escalations.

Ensure timely closure of service calls.

4. Network & Peripheral Support (Basic)

Configure Wi-Fi, LAN, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.

Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Update service reports, job cards, and spare usage details.

Maintain records of repairs, replacements, and customer feedback.

Follow company service and reporting procedures.

6. Customer Handling

Communicate politely and professionally with customers.

Explain issues, solutions, and usage guidelines clearly.

Maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.

7. Compliance & Safety

Follow company policies, safety guidelines, and ESD procedures.

Handle customer data securely and maintain confidentiality.

Take proper care of company tools and spare parts.

Minimum Skills Required

Basic knowledge of laptop hardware and Windows OS.

Ability to troubleshoot and identify faults.

Willingness to travel for field work.

Good communication and problem-solving skills.
