Role Summary

The Cashier is responsible for managing all front-end financial transactions, including billing, payment processing, and daily sales reconciliation. This role acts as a guardian of the restaurant’s revenue, ensuring that every order served is accurately billed and every payment is securely collected. The ideal candidate must combine numerical precision with a professional, guest-friendly demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Billing & Transaction Management

• Accurate Billing: Process guest bills promptly via the POS system, ensuring all items, taxes, and service charges are correctly applied.
• Payment Processing: Handle various payment methods including cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, and digital wallets with 100% accuracy.
• Settlement: Verify and settle tables in the system only after payment confirmation.
• Discount Management: Apply authorized discounts, vouchers, or corporate tie-up rates only after verifying proper documentation/approvals.

2. Cash Handling & Security

• Float Management: Maintain a secure and accurate "House Float" (opening cash) at the start of every shift.
• Cash Drops: Ensure regular cash drops into the safe as per company policy to minimize on-counter risk.
• Currency Verification: Verify all cash for authenticity and ensure correct change is returned to guests.

3. Daily Reconciliation & Reporting

• Shift Closing: Conduct a thorough reconciliation of the day's sales against physical cash, card slips, and digital payment confirmations.
• Variance Analysis: Investigate and report any discrepancies or "Short/Over" amounts to the Accounts Manager immediately.
• Daily Sales Report (DSR): Prepare and submit the DSR, ensuring all cancelled KOTs (Kitchen Order Tickets) or voided bills are properly documented and signed off.

4. Guest Interaction

• Final Impression: Provide a warm and professional farewell to guests during the payment process.
• Feedback Collection: Assist in capturing guest contact details for the CRM database and encouraging digital feedback.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:

• Education: Graduate in Commerce (B.Com) or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 2–4 years of experience as a Cashier in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or retail environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Restaurant POS systems (e.g.,Wisdom) and basic MS Excel.

Core Competencies:

• Numerical Accuracy: Ability to handle large volumes of cash and transactions without errors.
• Integrity: High standards of honesty and professional ethics.
• Communication: Polite and clear communication in English; knowledge of Kannada/Hindi is an advantage.
• Multi-tasking: Ability to remain calm and accurate during peak hours when multiple bills are being settled simultaneously.
