Safety Officer

1. Responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures at a company level
2. Conducting safety training sessions for all workers, including new hires, to ensure they understand safety protocols, equipment usage, and emergency procedures. This involves regular toolbox talks, safety meetings.
3. Regularly inspecting construction sites to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and compliance issues. Conducting audits to ensure that safety standards are being followed and that corrective actions are taken when necessary.
4. Identifying potential risks and hazards on project sites and developing strategies to mitigate them such as safety of equipment, machinery, and work processes.
5. Ensuring that appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided to all workers and that it is worn correctly. Monitoring the condition of safety equipment and arranging for repairs or replacements as needed.
6. Investigating accidents, injuries, or near misses that occur on construction sites to determine the root causes and prevent future occurrences. Maintaining accurate records of all incidents and ensuring that they are reported to the relevant authorities.
7. Developing and implementing emergency response plans for various scenarios, such as fires, natural disasters, or medical emergencies. Conducting drills and exercises to ensure that workers are prepared to respond effectively in case of an emergency.
8. Promoting a culture of safety among all employees by encouraging active participation in safety initiatives, recognizing and rewarding safe behaviour, and raising awareness about the importance of workplace safety.
