Traub Machine Operator

Job Summary

The Traub Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Traub automatic lathe machines to produce precision metal components according to engineering drawings and quality standards. The operator ensures efficient production, dimensional accuracy, and safe machine operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Traub automatic lathe machines for turning operations
• Load raw materials and unload finished components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, job cards, and specifications
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, holders, and attachments
• Adjust machine settings such as speeds, feeds, and tool positions
• Monitor machining processes to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish
• Measure components using vernier callipers, micrometres, gauges, and comparators
• Perform minor machine adjustments and tool offsets
• Identify and correct machining defects and tool wear
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and cleaning
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area (5S)
• Record production output and report any machine or quality issues
