Job Description
Job Title: Accounts Manager for a Manaufacturing co at Chennai
Location: Parrys corner, Chennai
Reports To: Finance Head / CFO
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts (GL, AP, AR)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Handle bank reconciliations and cash flow management
2. Costing & Inventory Management
- Monitor raw material costing (wheat procurement, storage, wastage)
- Track production costs (milling, packaging, labor, overheads)
- Maintain inventory valuation (raw materials, WIP, finished goods)
- Analyze cost variances and suggest improvements
3. Taxation & Compliance
- Manage GST, TDS, and other statutory filings
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations
- Coordinate audits (internal & external)
- Maintain proper documentation for regulatory authorities
4. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Prepare annual budgets and forecasts
- Monitor actual vs budget performance
- Support management with financial analysis and reporting
5. Receivables & Payables Management
- Oversee collections from distributors/wholesalers
- Manage vendor payments and credit terms
- Monitor debtor aging and reduce bad debts
6. Team Management
- Supervise accounts staff
- Ensure proper workflow and internal controls
- Train team members on accounting systems and compliance
7. ERP & Systems
- Work on ERP/accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Busy)
- Ensure accurate data entry and reporting
- Improve financial processes through automation
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred
- Experience: Minimum 10 years as a Accounts Manager in any manufacturing co in accounting/finance
- Experience in any manufacturing or FMCG sector
- Strong knowledge of inventory & cost accounting

Salary: Maximum gross up to 9 LPA
