Job Description – Advocate (Litigation)

Role & Responsibilities

• Independently handle criminal and civil litigation across courts in Tamil Nadu.
• Draft, file, and argue matters including petitions, complaints, affidavits, applications, replies, and legal notices.
• Appear before police stations, Magistrate Courts, District Courts, High Court, and other statutory authorities.
• Manage end-to-end case proceedings: filing, hearings, arguments, follow-ups, and compliance.
• Conduct legal research, prepare case strategies, briefs, and opinions.
• Liaise with senior counsels when required and represent the organization independently.
• Maintain case records, track deadlines, and ensure timely filings and appearances.
• Coordinate with internal teams to gather facts, documents, and instructions.
• Travel within Tamil Nadu for court appearances and legal procedures.

Key Skills Required

• Strong practical knowledge of CrPC, IPC, CPC, and allied laws.
• Excellent drafting, filing, and court-handling skills.
• Ability to argue matters independently and take legal decisions.
• Effective communication skills in Tamil and English.
• Strong time management and ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously.
• High standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Qualifications

• LLB / BL from a recognized university.
• Enrolled with the State Bar Council (mandatory).
• 2–8 years of active litigation experience with independent case handling (preferred).

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel when needed.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
