Analyst PPM Codification
Chennai is Center of Excellence (CoE) for most of MP&L activities and supports Ford’s global operations round the clock. Candidates applying MUST be willing to work in US time zone, and/or Europe time zone.
Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) department is an integral part of Manufacturing Operations and is responsible for the following activities.
- Program planning
- Packaging Engineering (PE)
- Material Flow Engineering (MFE)
- Supply Chain Management (SCM)
- Production Scheduling
- Systems (IT) Planning & Implementation (GSCI)
- Program & Pre-production Management (PPM) & Codification
- Bill of Material Management
- Prototype Materials Management
- Product Coding of Vehicle Specifications
- Obsolescence Management
- Vehicle Distribution
- Capacity Studies & Constraint Management
- Logistics network & design – Study & implementation, both domestic & international
- Customs & Trade Management
Preference will be given to candidates with either of the following skill set.
- Automotive Supply Chain & logistics knowledge –
- End-to-End Supply chain and liaison with suppliers, Internal Cross Functional teams (Purchasing, PD, Plant teams) on daily basis to support Production.
- Ocean Logistics Planning and Operations / Airfreight Planning and execution
- Domestic Transportation– Network Planning and Operations and understanding of Logistics Optimization tools like TMS / TMOD / OTM
- Automotive Customs HS Codes, Imports & Exports Knowledge. Review & assist in HS Classification process with an understanding of technical aspect of Vehicle & Powertrain (Engine & Transmission) .
- PPM & Codification
- Bill of Material and Engineering Change Management.
- Coding of Vehicle Specifications & Product Catalogue creation
- Interpret product features into machine / system language.
- Obsolescence Management
- Identify all Obsolete & potentially obsolete stocks arising out of Balance outs, Engineering changes
- Discuss with CFTs (PD, Suppliers, Purchase, Marketing, Plant MP&L) to identify salvage opportunities by means of re-work/re-export/re-use.
- Drive physical disposition on timely basis and write off obsolete inventory as per Finance manual.
- Involve Annual, Monthly finance forecast discussions to ensure the Obsolescence is within approved budget.
- Packaging & Material Flow Engineering- Developing Packaging & Material flow Engineering (In-plant logistics) to meet JPH requirement.
- SAP End user proficiency – in MM & PP modules
- Capacity Planning & Constraints Management
- Determine APW & MPW by working with relevant cross functional teams.
- Perform Supplier capacity study along with Purchasing.
- Demand & supply analysis
- Work with CFT to derive production support plans
- Present study outcome & views in scheduling related discussions
- Forward Model Costing -
- Planning & cost estimations using Simulations, Digital Tools. Analysis & forecasting to support Forward Model Studies.
- Project management, Industry 4.0 practices, IoT solutions to support New model Launches
Candidates must have
- Strong analytical ability
- Ability to collaborate and work with Internal teams and External agencies.
- Strong communication & articulation skill - both written & verbal.
- Possess good presentation skill and ability to prepare KPI, MIS reports for management reviews.
- Automotive OEM / Tier-1 experiences. International Logistics management
- Process Automation tools like Excel Macro, Power Automate, Power BI, Robotic Process Automation.
Educational qualification: BE / B. Tech - Mech/Auto/EEE/ECE, CS or, Mechatronics
