Position Summary

ABS Impex is seeking a proactive and driven Area Sales Executive to support sales operations and client engagement in the Agri Commodities, Export, and Packaging Protection sectors.

The role focuses on expanding the client base, developing new business opportunities, and nurturing relationships with exporters and packaging industries across Chennai, Bangalore, Cochin, Coimbatore, and Telangana.

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of export markets, along with strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.



Key Responsibilities

 

Client Engagement

  • Visit and engage with clients involved in the export of Agri commodities such as Rice, Groundnuts, Raw Cashew, Sesame, Green Mung, Pigeon Peas, Maize, Soya, Chillies, Pulses, Wheat Bran, and other packed food products.
  • Engage with packaging and manufacturing industries such as Leather, Food, Chemical, Machinery Tools, Footwear, Metal, Furniture, Automotive, and Garments.
  • Understand client requirements, offer product solutions, and provide exceptional service support.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships as a trusted sales partner.

Business Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve B2B revenue targets and expand market share.
  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities with exporters, distributors, and industrial customers.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and growth areas.
  • Prepare and deliver customized sales presentations, proposals, and quotations.
  • Participate in trade fairs, exhibitions, and networking events to promote ABS Impex’s brand and offerings.

 

 

Territory Management

  • Manage and expand sales coverage across assigned areas and key export locations.
  • Conduct regular travel to explore new business prospects and maintain strong market presence.
  • Build and maintain a strong database of leads, prospects, and active clients.

Sales & Reporting

  • Assist in achieving monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual sales targets.
  • Generate client visit reports, track leads, and provide market insights to the Sales Head.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Logistics) for seamless order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends, competitor moves, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Suggest product or process enhancements based on market insights.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business, Marketing, or related field).
  • 1–3 years of B2B sales experience preferably in Agri Commodities, Export, or Packaging sectors.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for fieldwork and client engagement.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
