Position Summary

We are looking for an Area Sales Manager based in Chennai, responsible for driving sales growth, managing and expanding the dealer network, developing secondary sales, and increasing market share across Tamil Nadu.

This role requires a hands-on sales professional with strong channel management experience and good knowledge of power tools and/or pneumatic tools, who can work closely with dealers, sub-dealers, OEMs, and corporate customers.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and expand the authorized dealer network across Chennai and nearby markets
  • Drive secondary sales through sub-dealers and direct engagement with end users
  • Identify, onboard, and develop new dealers and distributors in assigned territories
  • Work closely with OEMs, corporate clients, and institutional customers to increase business volumes
  • Conduct regular market visits to ensure brand visibility, product penetration, and dealer satisfaction
  • Support dealers with product training, demonstrations, and application knowledge
  • Monitor outstanding payments, credit exposure, and ensure timely collections in coordination with internal teams
  • Gather market intelligence on competition, pricing, new products, and customer requirements
  • Execute company sales strategies, promotional schemes, and growth initiatives
  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and territory performance updates



Desired Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in channel sales / dealer-based sales
  • Strong understanding of power tools and/or pneumatic tools (preferred)
  • Experience selling to dealers, sub-dealers, OEMs, or industrial customers
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and willing to work extensively in the field
  • Ability to independently manage territory responsibilities and deliver results



Educational Qualification

  • Graduate or Diploma in Engineering, Sales, Marketing, or related field
  • Candidates with either a sales background or engineering background are encouraged to apply



Experience

  • 3–8 years of relevant sales experience (flexible for the right candidate)
  • Experience in fasteners, tools, hardware, industrial products, or building materials will be an added advantage
