Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Assistant Chef to join our team at Ottoman Doner, a Turkish fast-food cafe. While experience is preferred, we welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow in the culinary field.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking a variety of Turkish fast food dishes, including doner kebab, shawarma, pide, and lahmacun
Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standard, following traditional Turkish cooking techniques and recipes
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and all areas are kept clean and sanitized
Follow all health and safety procedures and ensure that food handling, storage, and preparation are done following best practices
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation, ordering, and receiving of supplies
Train and mentor junior staff members as needed
Assist with menu planning and recipe development as required

Qualifications and Skills:

Passion for food and eagerness to learn and grow in the culinary field
Knowledge of Turkish cuisine is a plus, but not required
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Proficiency in English is preferable
