Job Description

Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Civil Contracting Role Overview The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing project execution, operations, planning, and business performance of the company. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and as per quality standards.


  • Key Responsibilities1. Project Management & Execution Monitor all ongoing construction projects (civil, structural, finishing, MEP coordination)
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, BOQ, and specifications
  • Resolve site-level issues and coordinate with project managers
  • Track progress and submit weekly/monthly reports
  • 2. Operations & Coordination Coordinate between site teams, procurement, and design teams
  • Ensure smooth material flow and resource allocation
  • Review site productivity and workforce efficiency
  • Support mobilization of labour and machinery
  • 3. Cost Control & Budgeting Monitor project budgets and control cost overruns
  • Review billing, RA bills, and client payments
  • Track material consumption vs BOQ
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities


  • 4. Client & Stakeholder Management Act as a point of contact for clients, consultants, and vendors
  • Attend project review meetings
  • Ensure client satisfaction and timely communication
  • Handle escalations professionally


  • 5. Procurement & Contracts Support procurement team in vendor selection and negotiations
  • Review purchase orders and subcontract agreements
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services


  • 6. Compliance & Quality Control Ensure compliance with:
  • Safety standards
  • Labour laws
  • Company policies
  • Monitor quality of construction and inspections
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • 7. Team Management Supervise project managers, engineers, and site staff
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Train and guide team members
  • Improve team productivity
  • 8. Business Development Support Assist in tendering and estimation process
  • Review BOQs and project feasibility
  • Support new client acquisition and partnerships (NGOs, corporates, etc.)
  • Key Skills Required Strong knowledge of civil construction & project management
  • Budgeting and cost control expertise
  • Leadership and team handling skills
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Qualification & Experience B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
  • 8–15 years of experience in construction industry
  • Experience in handling multiple projects
  • Reporting Structure Reports to: General Manager / Director
  • Manages: Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement Team
