Associate Software Engineer, Chennai
Our NIQ Technology teams are working on our new “Discover” platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure. Our clients around the world rely on NIQ’s data and insights to innovate and grow. Feeding data into the “Discover” platform are also a set of large scale applications that process millions of records of data every day.
As a Engineer, you’ll be part of a team of smart, highly skilled technologists who are passionate about learning and prototyping cutting-edge technologies. Right now the platform for which we are hiring is based in Java, ExtJS (Sencha), Angular, Spring Boot, Tom Cat, Oracle, Elastic Search, Mongo, Azure Cloud and we continue to adopt the best of breed in cloud-native, low-latency technologies. We value CI/CD in everything that we develop. Our team is co-located and have adopted SAFE Agile, with central technology hubs in Chennai, Chicago, and Toronto.
Responsibilities:
- Write code to develop scalable, flexible applications
- Ensure the maintainability and quality of code
- Develop secure and highly performant services and APIs
- Proactively identify and suggest improvements / new technologies that can improve the platform in terms of speed, quality and cost
- Integrate and leverage AI tools and frameworks to optimize development and data processing
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 1+ years of software development experience
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms
- Good knowledge and working experience on Java
- Good knowledge and experience with SQL (preferably Oracle)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in Angular and / or Ext JS an added advantage
- Eagerness to learn independently and flexibility to work across technology stacks
- Exposure to AI/ML technologies, including Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs
