Batch Operations & Support Specialist with Control-M & Scripting Expertise

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a dedicated Batch Operations Specialist to support and maintain batch processing systems, ensuring seamless operations in line with organizational standards. The role involves providing technical support for batch processing workflows, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing processes to ensure timely and accurate data processing. The successful candidate will contribute to the stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of batch operations, supporting the organization’s strategic objectives and operational excellence.

Software Requirements

  • Required:

    • Proficiency in batch processing tools and systems, with hands-on experience in scheduling and monitoring batch workflows.

    • Experience with batch support tools such as Control-M, Autosys, or similar scheduling platforms.

    • Basic understanding of operating systems such as Windows and Linux/Unix environments.

    • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, or Perl) for automation and troubleshooting.

  • Preferred:

    • Knowledge of database query tools and SQL for data validation and troubleshooting.

    • Experience with cloud-based batch solutions or integration with cloud services.

    • Familiarity with monitoring tools and dashboards for real-time batch system oversight.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Support and monitor batch processing workflows to ensure timely completion without errors.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve batch job failures, coordinating with technical teams to identify root causes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize batch workflows, improve stability, and reduce processing time.

  • Maintain detailed logs and documentation of batch processes, issues, and resolutions.

  • Assist in deploying updates or modifications to batch scripts and processes in accordance with change management protocols.

  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, data security policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in regular review meetings to discuss batch performance, issues, and improvement strategies.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing batch system efficiency and reliability.

  • Programming Languages:

    • Required: Shell scripting, Python, or Perl for process automation and troubleshooting.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Monitor batch jobs, ensuring they execute successfully and on schedule.

  • Troubleshoot job failures, analyze logs, and implement corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize batch workflows.

  • Maintain documentation of batch procedures, issues, and resolutions.

  • Participate in daily operational meetings to review batch performance and escalate ongoing issues.

  • Support deployment of updates, patches, or workflow modifications.

  • Identify opportunities to automate repeat tasks and improve process robustness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Experience with batch scheduling tools such as Control-M, Autosys, or equivalent platforms.

  • Basic scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Perl.

  • Knowledge of database query tools, SQL, and operating systems.
