Job Description

Key Responsibilities (Bullet Points)

1. Customer Engagement & Empathy

Greet every walk-in customer within the first 30 seconds

Make customers feel comfortable, heard, and respected

Observe body language and adapt communication style accordingly

Build trust through genuine conversation, not aggressive selling

2. Asking the Right Questions

Ask discovery questions to understand:

Type of home (apartment, villa, rental, own)

Family size and usage pattern

Room size / layout (hall, bedroom, etc.)

Comfort preference (soft, medium, firm)

Budget range (without making the customer uncomfortable)

Clarify why the customer needs the product, not just what they want

3. Product Guidance (Consultative Selling)

Suggest sofas/furniture based on:

Room size and proportions

Lifestyle (kids, elders, pets, guests)

Long-term durability vs aesthetic preference

Explain differences clearly:

Foam quality, frame strength, fabric vs leatherette

Factory-made advantage vs marketplace products

Use simple language—avoid technical jargon unless needed

4. In-Store Experience Management

Ensure the showroom looks presentable and welcoming

Offer seating, water, and time—never rush customers

Walk customers through options in a structured manner

Handle objections calmly and confidently

5. Lead & Follow-Up Discipline

Record customer details accurately (name, phone, requirement)

Note preferences and concerns for follow-up

Coordinate with the sales/owner for quotations and callbacks

Follow up politely without sounding pushy

Skills & Qualities Required

Strong communication skills (Tamil required, English/Hindi a plus)

High emotional intelligence and patience

Ability to listen more than talk

Genuine interest in helping customers decide well

Basic understanding of furniture or willingness to learn

Presentable, calm, and professional demeanor

Experience

1–3 years in retail, showroom sales, hospitality, or customer service preferred

Experience in furniture / interiors is a bonus but not mandatory
