Cable Technician

A Cable Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cable TV lines, broadband internet connections, set-top boxes, networking equipment, and related infrastructure. The role involves field work, customer support, equipment configuration, and ensuring reliable signal quality for households and commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure cable TV lines, fiber/coax cables, STB, modems, routers.
• Perform signal testing, alignment, and quality checks using tools like signal meters.
• Diagnose and repair issues related to cable lines, connectors, boosters, splitters, and broadband connections.
• Handle new customer setups, relocations, and service upgrades.
• Maintain and clean up network cabling infrastructure on poles, junction boxes, and customer premises.
• Ensure safe and professional wiring practices.
• Provide technical support to customers on TV channels, broadband issues, and equipment usage.
• Maintain daily reports on work orders, customer visits, and inventory.
• Coordinate with the main office/operations team for network outages and upgrades.

Job Requirements

• Educational QualificationMinimum: 10th / 12th Pass
• Preferred: Diploma in Electronics / Electrical / Telecommunication

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of coaxial, fiber optic, and LAN cabling.
• Familiarity with STB installation, routers, ONU/ONT devices.
• Ability to use tools such as:
• Line tester
• Signal level meter
• Crimping tools
• Optical power meter (for fiber)

Experience 

• 0–3 years in cable TV, broadband, telecom, or related field.

Soft Skills

• Good communication with customers.
• Ability to climb poles, work outdoors, and handle field tasks.
• Problem-solving attitude.
• Basic reporting and documentation skills.

Other Requirements

• Two-wheeler (if field work requires travel)
• Willingness to work flexible hours in case of outages or emergencies.
