Job SummaryThe Caretaker is responsible for providing compassionate, safe, and reliable personal care and basic medical support to elders or patients at their residence. The role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health needs, and ensuring the comfort, dignity, and well-being of the client while coordinating with family members and healthcare professionals.

• Key ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care & Daily LivingAssist with bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care, toileting, and continence care.
• Support mobility, transfers, and positioning (bed to chair, walking assistance, fall prevention).
• Prepare and assist with meals as per dietary instructions; support feeding if required.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of the client’s immediate environment.
• Health Monitoring & Basic CareMonitor vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse, blood sugar if trained) and record observations.
• Assist with medication reminders/administering as per care plan and instructions.
• Perform basic nursing tasks if qualified (wound care, catheter care, feeding tube care, nebulization, etc.).
• Observe changes in health or behavior and promptly report concerns to the family and care manager.
• Companionship & Emotional SupportProvide companionship, engage in conversation, and support mental and emotional well-being.
• Encourage light physical activities, exercises, or cognitive stimulation as advised.
• Safety & Emergency ResponseEnsure a safe home environment; follow infection control and safety protocols.
• Handle emergencies calmly and escalate to family, supervisor, or medical services when required.
• Documentation & CoordinationMaintain daily care logs, medication charts, and incident reports.
• Coordinate with nurses, doctors, therapists, and family members for continuity of care.
• Follow company policies, client care plans, and confidentiality guidelines.
• Required QualificationsMinimum education: 8th/10th pass (Diploma/Certification in Caregiving/Nursing preferred).
• Prior experience in home care, elder care, hospital, or nursing home preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene, nutrition, and patient handling techniques.
• Skills & CompetenciesCompassionate, patient, and trustworthy attitude.
• Good communication skills (local language; basic English preferred).
• Ability to follow instructions and care plans accurately.
• Physical stamina for assisting mobility and daily tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts (day/night/live-in).
• Compliance & EthicsMaintain confidentiality and respect client privacy and dignity.
• Adhere to ethical caregiving practices and company SOPs.
• Background verification and health check-ups as per policy.
• Preferred AttributesExperience with geriatric care, dementia, post-operative care, or chronic illness.
• First-aid or CPR certification.
• Positive references from previous employers.
