Job Description:

Our restaurant is seeking an experienced and skilled Continental Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge and expertise in preparing and cooking a variety of continental dishes, such as Italian, French, Spanish, and Mediterranean cuisines.

Responsibilities:
• Plan and develop menus, incorporating continental dishes that align with restaurant standards and customer preferences.
• Prepare, cook and present dishes according to recipes and/or customer requests, ensuring high quality and consistent taste.
• Manage and maintain food inventory, ensuring all items are fresh, properly stored and labeled, and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure a productive and efficient work environment, including monitoring and scheduling shifts, delegating tasks, and providing guidance and feedback.
• Collaborate with the restaurant manager and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations, including managing food orders, managing kitchen equipment, and ensuring the timely delivery of food to customers.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation in the kitchen and storage areas, including ensuring that equipment is clean and in good working condition.

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Continental Chef, with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar role.
• A culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge and expertise in continental cuisines, with the ability to prepare a wide variety of dishes.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to supervise and train staff effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with the ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
