CMPC GEOTECH REPLACMENT

Job Description

  • Undertake geotechnical design for enabling works including:
    • Temporary earth filling for casting yard development / equipment movement and to provide access to alignment.
    • Ground improvement techniques with soil replacement, usage of superior materials to enhance the capacity of virgin soil.
    • Excavations and support systems includes design of secant/contiguous piles/sheet piles/solider pile with anchor/strut system
    • Structural check of secant piles and contiguous piles including reinforcement detailing. Structural check of sheet pile of different vendor and solider pile check.
    • Cofferdam design including sheet pile/steel liner in water mode
    • Temporary Access bridge using steel liner
    • Design of RCC piles, steel liners using IS codes. Compression, Tension and lateral capacity of the piles to be determined
    • Structural check of RCC piles including the design of main rebar and lateral ties.
    • Design of cable anchors using HT strands including the design of bond between grout / ground and HT strands / grout, HT strands structural capacity design check.
    • Design of Retaining walls including check for sliding, bearing capacity and toppling.
    • Slope stabilisation includes shotcrete with or without soil nailing.
    • Temporary Dewatering with deep well system, multiple well point system and sump pump system.
    • Waterfront structures design including temporary access bridge, cofferdam, tower crane foundation and if any temporary staging in water mode as per site requirement.
    • Assessing geotechnical borelogs for enabling work design
    • Providing specification for geotechnical investigation for site infrastructure development and for permanent works
  • Interpret ground investigation data and prepare geotechnical reports, design calculations, and specifications
  • Provide geotechnical input for site infrastructure facilities
  • Support site investigations, including scoping, supervision, and review of factual and interpretive reports
  • Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections, responding to RFIs, and design updates
  • Liaise with contractors, clients, and other design disciplines to resolve technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and health & safety requirements
  • Geotechnical analysis and design software (e.g. PLAXIS, WALLAP, GEO5 or similar)
  • Ground investigation interpretation and reporting
  • Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics
  • Competence in producing clear technical reports and drawings
  • Working towards or achieved professional chartership (ICE, IStructE, or equivalent)
  • Experience on large infrastructure or complex urban enabling works projects
  • Temporary works design experience
  • Practical, solution-oriented approach to engineering challenges
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Geotechnical Engineering
  • At least 2 years’ experience after post-graduation
