Collection Executive / Officer

Job Summary

The Collection Department Executive is responsible for tracking outstanding receivables, following up with customers for timely payments, reducing overdue balances, and maintaining accurate collection records while ensuring positive customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Follow up with customers through calls, emails, and visits for pending payments

Maintain accounts receivable aging reports

Ensure timely collection as per credit policies and payment terms

Coordinate with sales, billing, and accounts teams to resolve payment issues

Prepare and share daily/weekly collection reports

Handle customer queries related to invoices and payments

Escalate long-pending cases to seniors as per policy

Support month-end and year-end closing activities

Ensure proper documentation of payment receipts

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Basic understanding of accounts receivable & collections

Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (Tally / SAP / ERP)

Good analytical and follow-up skills

Ability to meet deadlines and collection targets

Qualification

Graduate in B.Com / BBA / BA / Any degree

MBA (Finance/HR) – preferred

Fresher or 1–3 years experience in collections/accounts

Preferred Experience

Experience in corporate / logistics / banking / service industry collections

Knowledge of invoice processing and credit control
