Job Description

  • Provide both remote and on-site support to clients by diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with laptops and desktop computers.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and software applications.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics and repairs on laptops and desktops (e.g., replacing hard drives, memory, and other components).
  • Set up and configure new computer systems, including network configurations, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Repairs and Upgrades:Perform hardware repairs including motherboard replacement, screen replacements, power supply issues, and other component failures.
  • Recommend and install hardware upgrades such as memory, storage, and graphics cards.
  • Perform system performance tuning and optimization to improve the efficiency and speed of systems.
  • Software Installation & Troubleshooting:Install operating systems and software applications based on client requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, including crashes, slow performance, and configuration problems.
  • Ensure that systems are running the latest patches and updates for security and performance.
  • Customer Interaction:Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that clients understand technical issues in simple, non-technical language.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a positive customer experience and timely resolutions of technical problems.
  • Document all work performed on client systems, keeping detailed records of repairs, issues, and service interactions.

Key Skills and Qualifications:Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices (e.g., printers, monitors).
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Familiarity with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform hardware diagnostics and repairs (e.g., motherboard replacement, screen issues).
  • Knowledge of networking basics and setup (IP configuration, LAN/WAN).
  • Experience in system performance optimization and security best practices.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively.
  • A customer-first attitude with a focus on delivering a high level of service.
  • Team-oriented, willing to collaborate and share knowledge with peers.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar) are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a similar technical support or field service role is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to client locations (if required).
  • Working Conditions:Work Environment: Primarily field-based with occasional office work.
  • Travel: This role requires frequent travel to client sites within the Chennai region.
