JOB PURPOSE

To assist customers in selecting sarees and related products, provide excellent customer service, achieve sales targets, maintain showroom presentation, and support smooth daily store operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Customer Handling & Sales

• Greet and welcome customers politely.

• Understand customer requirement (budget, occasion, fabric, colour, design).

• Show sarees and explain details like silk type, weaving, zari, border, pallu, blouse piece, etc.

• Recommend matching items like blouses, inner skirts (petticoats), shawls, dupattas, jewellery.

• Convert walk-ins into sales with good product knowledge and confidence.

• Handle billing support and coordinate with cashier when required.

• Ensure customer satisfaction and repeat visits.

2) Product Knowledge

• Learn and explain varieties such as:

• Kanchipuram Silk, Banarasi, Soft Silk, Cotton, Linen, Chiffon, Georgette, Kota, Organza

• Explain saree care instructions (washing, dry clean, folding, storage).

3) Store Display & Maintenance

• Keep saree counters neat and attractive.

• Refold and arrange sarees properly after customer trials.

• Maintain display mannequins and new arrivals showcase.

• Ensure pricing tags are correct and visible.

4) Stock & Inventory Support

• Assist in counting stock when required.

• Identify fast-moving and slow-moving sarees and inform supervisor.

• Maintain safety and avoid stains/damage while handling sarees.

• Support inward stock checking and rack placement.

5) Customer Follow-up

• Collect customer details for future offers/new arrivals.

• Follow up for wedding orders, bulk requirements, festival collections.

• Inform loyal customers about discounts and new collections.

6) Discipline & Store Rules

• Be punctual and follow shift timing.

• Maintain grooming standards and professional behaviour.

• Follow store policies on mobile usage, breaks, and customer handling.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Good communication (Tamil + basic English preferred)

• Confidence in talking to customers

• Strong convincing and closing skills

• Patience and polite attitude

• Basic billing / POS knowledge (added advantage)

• Ability to stand for long hours and handle store rush

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum: 10th / 12th Pass

• Diploma / Degree (preferred but not mandatory)

EXPERIENCE

• 3 to 10 years in saree showroom / textile retail / garment sales

⸻

WORK TIMINGS

• Shift-based / Full-day retail timing

• Weekly off as per store schedule

• Must work during peak season (festival, wedding season)
