Job Description: Delivery Executive — Platestory (Premium Cakes & Desserts)

Role Type: Full-time

Work Week: 6 days (weekly off on Mon/Tue/Wed as Fri–Sun are peak days)

Reporting To: Operations / Dispatch Lead

Role OverviewAs a Delivery Executive at Platestory, you are responsible for safe, on-time, premium-standard delivery of cakes, desserts, and hampers. You’ll handle high-value, fragile products—so care, etiquette, and accountability matter as much as speed.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesOn-time Deliveries (Primary)

• Pick up orders from the kitchen/store and deliver to customer locations as per schedule.
• Follow the delivery route/sequence shared by Ops/Dispatch and update delivery status on time.

1. Product Safety & Handling (Non-Negotiable)

• Handle cakes/desserts carefully (no tilting, impact, heat exposure).
• Ensure correct packaging, labels, and sealing before leaving the outlet.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of delivery bag/box and the carrying space.

1. Customer Coordination & Professional Etiquette

• Call the customer before reaching, confirm location, and deliver politely.
• Coordinate with security/reception/event venue staff for smooth handover.
• Maintain premium brand conduct (tone, patience, grooming).

1. Payment & Proof of Delivery

• Confirm full payment is done before dispatch; if balance is pending, coordinate with Ops to collect before delivery.
• Capture proof of delivery as instructed (photo/confirmation/call update).

1. Issue Handling & Escalation

• Inform Ops immediately about traffic delays, wrong addresses, customer unavailability, or access issues.
• Escalate damage/spillage/packaging issues instantly—do not try to “manage silently.”

1. Occasional Outstation/Far-Location Deliveries

• Once in a while, you may need to travel to farther customer/event locations (within/outside city limits) for priority deliveries, venue coordination, or urgent replacements, based on Operations instructions.
• Must-Have Skills & TraitsPunctual, responsible, and calm under pressure
• Good communication (Tamil/English basic is enough)
• Strong navigation skills (Google Maps)
• Customer-friendly and well-mannered
• Physically comfortable with multiple trips/day and peak-hour rush
• EligibilityTwo-wheeler with valid driving license (preferred)
• Smartphone mandatory
• Prior delivery experience is a plus (Swiggy/Zomato/Dunzo/porter, etc. welcome)
