Design Engineer

Job Title: Design Engineer 

We are looking for a hands-on Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks capability who can independently execute part modelling, assemblies, and production-ready drawings in a fast-paced project environment. The role demands clarity of design intent, discipline in GD&T, and strong ownership of timelines and deliverables. 

This is an execution-critical role—not a training or observer position. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Mechanical Design & CAD Execution (Core Responsibility) 

• Create 3D part models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. 
• Convert inputs, concepts, and requirements into clear, structured, and manufacturable designs. 
• Maintain proper design intent, parametric structure, and revision control. 
• Support design iterations based on feedback from manufacturing, quality, and project teams.

2. Drafting & GD&T Discipline 

• Apply GD&T principles correctly as per design and manufacturing needs. 
• Ensure drawings are complete, unambiguous, and shop-floor friendly. 
• Follow company drafting standards, title blocks, BOM structures, and release processes. 
• Minimize drawing errors, rework, and clarification loops.

3. Assembly & Integration Support 

• Create logical, well-structured top-down or bottom-up assemblies. 
• Validate fit, clearances, and interfaces before release. 
• Support prototype builds, assembly trials, and issue resolution.

4. Execution & Timeline Ownership 

• Plan and execute assigned design tasks within committed timelines. 
• Proactively flag risks, delays, or missing inputs early. 
• Handle multiple tasks/projects in parallel without quality dilution. 
• Work efficiently under fast-paced, delivery-driven project conditions.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination 

• Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and project teams. 
• Incorporate feedback from fabrication, machining, and assembly. 
• Support engineering changes and continuous design improvement.

Profile & Skills Required 

Must-Have 

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design engineering 
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks: 
• Part modeling 
• Assemblies 
• Manufacturing drawings 
• Good working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance application. 
• Clear understanding of design intent and manufacturability. 
• Strong ownership, positive attitude, and execution mindset. 
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project team.

Preferred 

• Exposure to fabrication, machining, or assembly environments. 
• Experience working on project-based or custom engineering products. 
• Familiarity with BOMs, ECNs, and document control practices. 
• Exposure to GD&T and non-metal machining. 
• Exposure to drafting standards.
