Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fire Protection Design Engineer to join our team. As a Fire Protection Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of buildings and their occupants by designing fire protection systems that meet industry standards and codes. • Fire Protection Design Engineer Responsibilities & DutiesConduct site visits to gather information and assess fire protection needs
• Design fire protection systems, including fire sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and smoke control systems
• Perform hydraulic calculations and prepare system layouts
• Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards, including NFPA and local codes
• Prepare project specifications and cost estimates
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases
• Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates
• Fire Protection Design Engineer Qualifications & Skills in Fire Protection Engineering
• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD or Revit
• Familiarity with fire modeling software like FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator)
• Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
• LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design practices
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or eligibility to obtain PE within 6 months of hire
• 5+ years of experience in fire protection design
• Strong understanding of fire protection codes and standards, including NFPA 13, NFPA 20, and NFPA 72
• Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and prepare system layouts
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong project management and organization skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and hydraulic calculation software
