Job Description

  • Cleanroom & HVAC Design Engineer – Roles and Responsibilities1. Design & PlanningPrepare conceptual and detailed design for HVAC systems specific to cleanroom environments (Pharma, Electronics, Food, Healthcare, etc.).
  • Perform heat load calculations, air changes, and pressure differentials based on ISO cleanroom classifications.
  • Select appropriate AHUs, chillers, ducts, filters (HEPA/ULPA), diffusers, and other HVAC components.
  • Ensure proper zoning, airflow patterns, and temperature/humidity control in line with cleanroom standards.
  • Design duct layouts, piping layouts, and equipment placement using AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications for tendering and procurement.
  • 2. Standards & ComplianceDesign systems in compliance with ISO 14644, GMP, USFDA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure energy-efficient design complying with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, and NBC standards.
  • Incorporate HEPA filter layouts, pressure cascades, and cleanliness classifications as per project requirements.
  • 3. Coordination & DocumentationCoordinate with architectural, electrical, plumbing, and process teams to ensure integrated design.
  • Prepare design drawings, equipment schedules, and control schematics for review and approval.
  • Provide technical support to site teams during execution.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and as-built drawings submitted by contractors.
  • 4. Project Execution SupportConduct site visits to verify installation as per design.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Support testing, balancing, and validation (DQ, IQ, OQ) activities for cleanroom systems.
  • 5. Vendor & Client InteractionEvaluate vendor proposals and review technical submittals.
  • Interact with clients for design approvals, clarifications, and technical discussions.
  • Prepare design reports, technical presentations, and progress documentation.
  • 6. Continuous ImprovementStay updated on the latest technologies in HVAC and cleanroom applications.
  • Suggest cost-effective and energy-efficient design alternatives.
  • Participate in value engineering and system optimization activities.
  • Key Skills RequiredAutoCAD / Revit / HAP / Duct Sizer / Excel-based load calculation tools
  • Knowledge of HVAC system design, cleanroom classification, filtration systems, and airflow patterns
  • Understanding of BMS controls, chilled water systems, and air distribution networks
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
