SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role) |
Senior Design Engineer role is to create detailed analysis & designs, plans & specification that ensure safe & efficient construction of metro infrastructure projects while adhering to codes, regulations & environmental standards. Responsibilities include performing detailed structural analysis, precise structural design, and accurate quantity estimation using MS Excel and STAAD.Pro. Striving to deliver cost-effective, safe, and optimized design solutions that contribute to the development of metro infrastructure & bring value to organization. |
SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES |
Structural Design | - Design & analyze structural elements with a specialization in Metro & High-Speed Rail projects using state of the art software/technology & engineering principle.
- Develop Design Basis Report for metro projects, ensuring compliance with industry standard codes & regulations.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications & BOQ for the structural elements.
- Stay updated with various codal provisions and their applicability across different structural applications.

Timely response to client feedback | - Analyze client feedback and incorporate necessary design revisions to ensure alignment with project requirements, functionality, and structural integrity.
- Discuss with the team leader on the modifications, ensuring that all changes reflect the client’s vision while maintaining technical feasibility and compliance with standards.

Collaboration with Stakeholders | - Contribute to site coordination efforts by ensuring designs remain adaptable to on-site challenges and project needs.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure clear and effective communication, promoting a well-coordinated workflow that helps streamline processes and minimize project delays.

Quality Assurance and Compliance with Regulatory Standards | - Make sure all designs follow relevant codes, industry standards, and regulations.
- Check designs & drawings carefully throughout the process to ensure they are accurate, complete, and high quality.
- Maintaining quality as per organization QA/QC policies.

Interface teams | - Collaborate with various disciplines, including Geotechnical, CMPC and MEP teams, to ensure that all design and drawing considerations align with the needs and requirements of other stakeholders. This helps prevent rework during construction by addressing potential issues in the design phase.

Team lead | - Communicate any inconsistencies or issues within the design to the team leader, seeking guidance and suggestions for necessary revisions. Escalate unresolved matters to the appropriate experts for further advice and resolution.

Drafting teams | - Provide necessary input through proper sketch and ensure that drawings include all essential details through careful checking.

Site team | - Coordinate with the site team to review construction feasibility and conduct thorough utility checks, ensuring seamless execution and minimizing potential conflicts

Third party reviewer | - Collaborate with third-party reviewers to consider and address any comments or concerns regarding the design and drawings.

Years of Experience | - Minimum 3 years of experience as Design Engineer.

Nature of Experience | - Experience in design of elements of Elevated/Underground Metro Structures.

Technical Skills (if available) | - Design of elements of Elevated / Underground Metro structures with a focus on RCC, PSC & Steel.
- Proficiency in software such as Staad Pro, Microsoft Office tools, Midas for begineers,etc is preferrable.
- Knowledge on relevant Indian & International codes & standards.
- Proficiency in FEA softwares is preferrable.
