Field Installation Engineer

Job Summary:

The Installation Engineer is responsible for installing, testing, and commissioning equipment or systems at client sites. This role ensures that all installations meet technical specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements. The Installation Engineer works closely with project managers, design engineers, and clients to deliver successful installations on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and execute equipment or system installations at customer locations.

Conduct pre-installation site surveys to assess conditions and requirements.

Install, configure, and calibrate hardware, software, and control systems according to technical documentation.

Perform functional and performance testing to verify system operation.

Diagnose and resolve installation or commissioning issues efficiently.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards during all installation activities.

Provide on-site technical support and training to customers or operators.

Maintain accurate installation records, reports, and documentation.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project goals.

Participate in system upgrades, maintenance, and post-installation support as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related engineering field.

Experience: 1–5 years of relevant experience in equipment installation, commissioning, or field service (depending on seniority level).

Strong understanding of technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Hands-on experience with tools, testing instruments, and diagnostic equipment.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Willingness to travel frequently to client sites (domestic or international).

Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in installation environments.

Preferred Skills (Optional):

Knowledge of PLCs, automation systems, or networking (for industrial installations).

Experience with project management or scheduling tools.

Certification in relevant safety or technical fields (e.g., OSHA, CSCS, or similar).

Basic understanding of software integration or control systems.
