L2 Linux Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

•Kubernetes and OpenShift Management:

oDesign, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.

oConfigure and optimize Kubernetes clusters for high availability, scalability, and reliability.

oWork with CI/CD pipelines, integrate automated testing, and deploy code into Kubernetes/Openshift clusters.

•Linux Administration:

oMaintain, troubleshoot, and configure Linux servers (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu).

oImplement and manage system monitoring and logging tools to ensure optimal system performance.

oPerform server hardening, security patching, and automate system updates.

•DevOps Automation & CI/CD:

oDesign and implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or other automation tools.

oCreate and manage automated scripts for building, testing, and deployment of applications.

oAutomate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.

•Cloud Infrastructure:

oWork with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure to manage and scale infrastructure.

oAutomate provisioning and scaling of cloud resources (e.g., EC2, VMs, storage).

•Collaboration & Support:

oCollaborate with software development teams to streamline deployment processes and enhance application performance.

oProvide 24/7 support for production environments and on-call troubleshooting when required.

oAnalyze and resolve issues related to system performance, security, and outages.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

•Linux Expertise:

oStrong experience with Linux systems administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).

oExperience managing package managers (RPM, YUM, DNF).

oKnowledge of shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation.

•Kubernetes & OpenShift:

oHands-on experience with Kubernetes clusters, management, scaling, and troubleshooting.

oExperience deploying and managing applications on Red Hat OpenShift.

oFamiliarity with Helm charts and OpenShift templates for application deployment.

•DevOps Tooling:

oProficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).

oFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.

oExperience with Git version control systems and automated workflows.

•Cloud and Virtualization:

oExperience working with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

oUnderstanding of virtual machines, containers, and cloud-native technologies.

•Monitoring & Logging:

oFamiliarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

oExperience with log aggregation and management tools (e.g., Fluentd, Logstash).

•Security & Networking:

oKnowledge of security best practices in containerized environments.

oFamiliar with networking concepts (DNS, Load balancing, VPNs, firewalls) and container networking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Kubernetes (CKA, CKAD).
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerization technologies.
  • Experience with service mesh technologies like Istio.
