Key Responsibilities
Next.js (Primary Focus)
Architect, design, and develop scalable applications using Next.js
Implement SSR, SSG, ISR, Edge Functions, and hybrid rendering strategies
Build performant frontend architectures with React (Hooks, Context API)
Develop backend APIs using Next.js API routes or Node.js services
Optimize performance (Core Web Vitals), SEO, and scalability
Implement secure authentication & authorization (JWT, OAuth, session-based)
Integrate third-party services and APIs
Write clean, modular, and testable code
Lead technical design decisions and mentor junior developers
Shopify (Secondary Focus)
Develop and customize Shopify themes and storefronts
Build and maintain Shopify apps (custom/public/private)
Develop headless Shopify storefronts using Next.js
Work with Shopify APIs (Admin API, Storefront API, GraphQL)
Implement webhooks, app extensions, and checkout customizations
Integrate payment gateways and third-party services
Optimize Shopify store performance and user experience
Cloud Platform (Tertiary Focus)
Deploy and manage applications on:
Netlify (primary preference)
Azure
Configure CI/CD pipelines (Netlify pipelines, GitHub Actions, etc.)
Manage serverless functions (Netlify Functions / AWS Lambda)
Handle cloud storage, caching, and CDN integrations
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production environments
Implement security best practices and scalability strategies
Required Skills
Core (Must Have)
8+ years of full-stack development experience
Strong expertise in:
Next.js (App Router & Pages Router)
React.js
Node.js
Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript proficiency
REST & GraphQL API development
Authentication & authorization strategies
Performance optimization & SEO best practices
Version control (Git)
Shopify Experience
2+ years hands-on Shopify development
Experience building headless commerce solutions using Next.js
Shopify app development experience
Shopify CLI, Polaris, Remixjs, Liquid templating knowledge
Familiarity with Shopify Partner ecosystem
Cloud & Deployment
Hands-on production deployment experience with:
Netlify (must have)
OR AWS / Azure / GCP
Experience deploying and scaling Next.js applications
CI/CD implementation
Experience with CDN, caching, and performance tuning
Soft Skills
Strong architectural and problem-solving skills
Ability to independently lead modules/projects
Excellent communication skills
Experience mentoring developers
Agile/Scrum experience
