Manager – Scheduling

Job Summary:

The Master Scheduling Manager is responsible for the overall scheduling, coordination, and optimization of construction projects, ensuring that all project activities are planned, monitored, and executed in alignment with project objectives and timelines. The role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, project management principles, and scheduling software to develop, manage, and communicate project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Project Schedules: Create, update, and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) to ensure all activities are completed within the project timeline.
  • Coordinate with Project Teams: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information, establish scheduling priorities, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Monitor and Report Progress: Regularly monitor project progress against the master schedule, identifying variances, critical path activities, and potential delays. Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Identify scheduling risks and opportunities, developing mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
  • Resource Allocation: Work with project teams to ensure appropriate resource allocation across multiple projects, balancing workloads and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all scheduling activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and contractual requirements. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to project schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BE/B.Tech – Civil/Mechanical (or) PG in Advance Construction Management (or) Project Management.
  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) will be an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in project scheduling, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role within the construction industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and project forecasting.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based (Chennai) with regular visits to construction sites.
  • Travel may be required depending on project locations.
