Manager / Senior Manager – Technical Sales (Flow Controls)
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical sales engineers and assistant managers.
- Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and manage performance and career development.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture aligned with Emerson’s values and business goals.
- Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market presence and achieve sales targets.
- Oversee account planning, opportunity management, and specification influence in all target accounts.
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers, EPCs, and licensors.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical or commercial issues.
- Represent Emerson at industry events, customer meetings, and technical seminars.
- Technical & Commercial Leadership
- Guide the team in understanding and influencing customer specifications to drive preference for Fisher/Flow Controls products.
- Ensure technical solutions are aligned with customer requirements and Fisher’s value proposition.
- Oversee pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and compliance with commercial policies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
Drive strong collaboration with Global Industry Sales, local India Sales, Global Project Pursuit, and Strategic Account teams on account targets, strategic sales plans, local support coverage and growth metrics.
Work closely with product management, engineering, and marketing to align offerings with market needs.
- Coordinate with global and local sales teams to ensure consistent customer coverage and support.
- Business & Market Intelligence
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
- Provide market feedback to inform product development and strategic planning.
- Collaboratively research and develop expansion plans for account coverage in India.
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and use of CRM systems.
- Drive continuous improvement in sales processes and customer engagement.
- You promote a sense of urgency and establishes and implements individual accountability in the team, you see the big picture, constantly inspires future scenarios, and builds strategies to sustain competitive advantage, you serve as a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long-lasting relationships with key accounts
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in technical sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record in the process control, automation, or industrial equipment sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of control valves and related solutions (Fisher products preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complex accounts, and deliver results.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for customer and internal meetings.
- Experience managing cross-functional or matrix teams.
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
- Deep understanding of customer, EPC, and licensor specifications.
- Experience with global accounts and multi-region sales strategies.
