Mechanical Design Engineer – Water Filtration & Aquaculture Systems

About Us:

KoifishIndia Nishikigoi is one of India’s leading koi fish farms and filtration system specialists. We are expanding into in-house manufacturing of advanced pond filtration systems including Rotary Drum Filters (RDF), UV clarifiers, and custom aquaculture equipment.

This role will be based at our farm and workshop facility in Puzhal, Chennai.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer who can lead product design, prototyping, and execution of filtration and aquaculture equipment.

This is not a desk-only job. The role involves working closely with fabrication, testing products on-site, and improving designs practically.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Rotary Drum Filters (RDF), UV clarifiers, and related equipment

• Design fish pond setup in Autocad and plan filter system along with cost planning

• Create 3D models and detailed production drawings (SolidWorks mandatory)

• Perform flow calculations and mechanical load calculations

• Select motors, shafts, bearings, seals, and structural components

• Coordinate with fabrication team for prototype development

• Oversee product testing and performance validation

• Prepare BOM and optimize cost for scalable manufacturing

Qualification

• B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

• 3–6 years relevant experience

• Experience in water treatment / pump systems / industrial equipment preferred

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks

• AutoCAD

• Sheet metal design

• Basic fluid mechanics understanding

• Motor and drive selection

• Practical fabrication knowledge
