MIG Welder

Key responsibilities 

∙ Perform welding: Join metal parts and surfaces using Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) techniques, ensuring proper settings and gas mixtures are used. 

∙ Interpret technical documents: Read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to plan welding and assembly operations. 

∙ Prepare materials: Clean, cut, and prepare metal surfaces for welding. 

∙ Set up and maintain equipment: Set up welding machines with appropriate settings and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance. 

∙ Inspect work: Examine completed welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications, making repairs as needed. 

∙ Follow safety protocols: Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe work environment. 

∙ Collaborate with teams: Work with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines. ∙ Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Essential skills and qualifications 

∙ Proficiency in MIG welding techniques. 

∙ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. 

∙ Familiarity with a variety of welding equipment and hand/power tools. 

∙ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 

∙ Physical strength and dexterity for the role. 

∙ Knowledge of safety procedures and standards.
