Network Security Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Network Security Engineer to join our client’s IT department. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and securing the organization's network infrastructure. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities to interact with US-based clients, and the capability to work independently in a corporate IT environment (not part of a managed services firm like TCS or Wipro).

Key Responsibilities - Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure components including routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure high availability and performance. - Diagnose and resolve L1/L2 network connectivity issues across LAN and WAN environments with minimal downtime. - Implement, optimize, and audit firewall policies (preferably on FortiGate) in alignment with security standards. - Manage VPN configurations (site-to-site and remote access) and enforce secure user access controls. - Continuously monitor network performance and security events, proactively identifying anomalies and potential threats. - Handle incident and service requests through ticketing systems, ensuring timely resolution within defined SLAs. - Coordinate with OEM/vendor support teams for advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution. - Prepare and present clear, concise reports on network performance, incidents, and improvements to IT leadership. - Ensure adherence to organizational security policies, compliance requirements, and best practices.

Minimum Requirements - Diploma or any degree in a relevant field. - Minimum 2 years’ experience in Network Support. - Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewall, and ACL concepts. - Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Minimum 1 Year Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls, including configuration and policy management - Ability to work independently and take ownership.
