Pest Control Operator

Pest control workers, also known as pest control technicians, perform a variety of tasks to identify and eliminate pests from homes and businesses: 

• Inspect: Look for signs of pests in buildings and other areas, both inside and outside 
• Treat: Apply pesticides, use traps, or set baits to get rid of pests 
• Prevent: Install barriers to keep pests out, such as screens, mesh, or spikes 
• Advise: Provide clients with advice on how to prevent future infestations 
• Estimate: Provide cost estimates for services, including one-time treatments and maintenance 
• Record: Keep track of inspections and treatments performed 
• Clean: Clean areas that may harbor pests 
• Drive: Drive trucks equipped with power spraying equipment to work sites 
• Fumigate: Fumigate households 
• Remove nests: Safely remove wasp, hornet, and bee nests 
• Collect samples: Collect samples of droppings, skin, or damaged food for scientific analysis
