Process Engineer with expertise in Desalination Plant and conventional Water Treatment Plant

The candidate should be with a Master degree or Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering with a experience of design the Desalination Plant. The person may be engaged in a Water Treatment Company with hands on experience in designing a Desalination Plant and conventional water treatment plant

Complete process design of the following:

1. Sea Water Desalination Plant (SWDP):

Design of Desalination Plant with Intake, Pretreatment, Ultra-filtration, Reverse Osmosis, Remineralization, Brine management and sludge treatment.

1.1 Sea Water Intake system: Various types of Intake System 

1.2 Pretreatment system: including Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF); media filtration like DMF (Dual Media Filter), MMF (Multi Media Filter); membrane filtration like UF (Ultra Filtration) etc.

1.3 Reverse Osmosis system: including sea water reverse osmosis with , brackish water reverse osmosis.

1.4 Energy recovery system: including system design with ERT (Energy Recovery Turbine), Pressure Exchanger and Work Exchanger

1.5 Remineralization: including Limestone Bed Filtration with carbon dioxide dosing.

1.6 Brine management system: including intermittent brine storage, utilization of brine in the process scheme and disposal of brine back to sea.

1.7 Sludge management system: including separation, dewatering and disposal of sludge generated in the process scheme.

1.8. Metalloid removal: including removal of Boron by Ion exchange technology.

2. Conventional Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

2.1 Conventional WTP with clarifier, filtration and disinfection.

2.2 Process plant WTP with demineralization, electro-deionization    

      (EDI), condensate polishing unit (CPU, both high pressure & low  

      pressure)

2.3 Design and selection of processes for handing cyanobacteria and 

      cyanotoxin.

2.4 Design and selection of processes for removal of color, odor,  

      heavy metal, micropollutants etc.

Person should be able to generate design deliverables for complete pre-bid engineering (Tendering) and post-bid engineering (Basic engineering and Detail Engineering):

         SPC (Specific Power Consumption) for the plant.

2. Vendor offer Evaluation & Selection
3. Technical Data Sheets
4. Process Design Basis Report
5. Operation and Control Philosophy
6. Scenario analysis 
7. Input for Operation and Maintenance Philosophy.
8. Input for Financial Modelling in BOOT/ BOO projects like  

    Correction factors, correction curves etc.

Person should be acquainted with following codes/ standards/ manuals:

• Codes and standards as applicable for the desalination and water treatment projects in Middle Eastern countries, African countries and South East Asian countries.

Person should be conversant with the following system design tools:

• Relevant design tools for Water Treatment and Desalination Plant.
