Product Manager Marketing Effectiveness
Job Description
NielsenIQ’s Product Leadership team develops and drives the product strategy for NielsenIQ’s vast consumer and marketing data assets. From panel and retail measurement to our connected technology platform and client-facing applications, the team defines product experiences that help clients turn data into confident business decisions.
As a Product Manager, Marketing Effectiveness, you will contribute to building scalable applications that translate complex media, marketing mix, and effectiveness insights into highly accessible, actionable experiences. Your focus will be on micro‑learning experiences, insight content feeds, and conversational user interfaces (UI) that help users understand, explore, and act on insights in their daily workflow.
You will work as part of a cross‑functional, global product team—partnering closely with UX, engineering, data science, and commercial stakeholders—to deliver intuitive, insight‑led product experiences for CPG, T&D, and retail clients.
What You’ll Do
Product Delivery & Ownership
- Own the definition and delivery of product features aligned to the Marketing Effectiveness product roadmap, with a focus on:
- Micro‑learning experiences that educate users on metrics, methodologies, and insights
- Insight content feeds that surface relevant, timely, and personalized outputs
- Conversational UI capabilities that allow users to query, explore, and contextualize insights
- Translate product strategy into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements
User Experience & Discovery
- Partner with UX to design intuitive, low‑friction experiences that make complex insights easy to understand
- Contribute to user research efforts to understand:
- How users consume insights in short, contextual moments
- When content, education, or conversational assistance can reduce time to insight
- Rapidly form hypotheses and validate solutions through wireframes, prototypes, and user testing
Agile Execution
- Work within an agile product team (product managers, designers, and engineers) to plan, execute, and ship features
- Collaborate daily with engineering teams to:
- Clarify scope and requirements
- Prioritize backlog items
- Manage dependencies and delivery risks
- Balance value vs. complexity trade‑offs, especially when integrating UI, data, and AI‑driven capabilities
Quality, Adoption & Measurement
- Own user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure features meet functional and experience standards
- Partner with Client Success, Commercial, and Analytics teams to:
- Measure feature adoption and usage
- Understand client feedback and friction points
- Iterate based on real‑world usage data
- Support go‑to‑market readiness by helping define messaging, use cases, and enablement materials for new releases
Core Product Skills
- 3–5+ years of experience in a Product Manager or similar role
- Strong ability to break down complex problems and structure them into clear, prioritized solutions
- Experience working in agile product teams, managing backlogs, and delivering incrementally
Experience with Insight‑Driven Experiences
- Understanding of how users engage with analytics, dashboards, or insight products
- Interest or experience in one or more of the following:
- Micro‑learning or embedded user education
- Content‑driven product experiences (feeds, highlights, notifications)
- Conversational or natural‑language interfaces for data and insights
- Ability to think about how, when, and why users consume insights—not just what the insights are
Communication & Collaboration
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to:
- Clearly articulate user needs and product decisions to engineers and designers
- Explain complex data or product concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional partners across product, UX, technology, data science, and commercial teams
- Ability to influence without authority, using data, user feedback, and clear reasoning
Technical & Analytical Foundations
- Solid understanding of software product fundamentals, APIs, and data‑driven systems
- Comfort working with technical teams on feasibility, constraints, and trade‑offs (without needing to be an engineer)
- Ability to prioritize features, enhancements, and bugs based on customer impact and business value
Documentation & Delivery
- Strong documentation skills, including:
- Product requirement documents
- User stories and acceptance criteria
- Feature definitions and release notes
Appreciated (But Not Mandatory)
- Familiarity with:
- Cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud)
- Collaboration and delivery tools (JIRA, Confluence, Miro)
- Exposure to AI‑assisted or conversational experiences, recommendation systems, or personalization
- Background in Marketing Effectiveness, Media Measurement, or Marketing Mix Modeling
