The Role
As an Safety Designer Level II with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.
- We are seeking an experienced Safety Designer having oil & gas, petrochemical, data center, or industrial projects with strong expertise in AutoCAD and Revit MEP to develop, review, and coordinate safety-related engineering layouts for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
- The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing HAC (Hazardous Area Classification) layouts, fire protection system layouts including hydrant, sprinkler, spray systems, and Fire & Gas (F&G) detection layouts.
- Develop detailed safety engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Prepare and update Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) diagrams in compliance with relevant standards.
- Design and draft fire protection system layouts, including:
- Hydrant systems.
- Sprinkler system.
- Water spray / deluge systems.
- Foam systems (if applicable).
- Prepare Fire & Gas (F&G) detection system layouts, including detector placement, coverage zones, and panel connectivity.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Civil, HVAC) to ensure integrated and clash-free models.
- Review and verify safety system layouts for compliance with applicable codes such as NFPA, OISD, FM Global, and project-specific standards.
- Create 2D drawings, 3D BIM models, schematics, and equipment schedules.
- Participate in design reviews, model review meetings, and safety engineering discussions.
- Ensure documentation accuracy, version control, and adherence to company quality standards.
- Support engineers in preparing material BOQs and technical documents related to fire and safety systems.
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- Diploma / bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant technical discipline.
- 10 to 18 years of experience in safety system design drafting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP is mandatory.
- Knowledge in software like pipe net is advantage.
- Working Knowledge cy in SPID and Micro station is added advantage.
- Strong experience in preparing:
- HAC layouts.
- Fire protection layouts (hydrant, sprinkler, water spray).
- F&G detection layouts.
- Good understanding of safety engineering standards such as NFPA, OISD, IS codes, IEC/ATEX (for HAC).
- Ability to interpret engineering documents like P&IDs, datasheets, specifications, and equipment layouts.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
