Job Description
1. Business Development & Sales
The primary goal here is to get your products specified in the early stages of a project.
* Lead Generation: Identifying upcoming infrastructure, residential, or commercial projects through tenders, construction databases, and industry networking.
* Technical Consulting: Meeting with developers and contractors to explain the cost-benefit analysis of precast (speed and labor savings) versus traditional cast-in-situ methods.
* Bidding & Estimating: Coordinating with the engineering team to provide accurate quotes based on structural drawings and project specifications.
* Negotiation & Closing: Handling contract terms, payment milestones, and delivery schedules to ensure a win-win for the factory and the client.
2. Technical Marketing & Positioning
Marketing in precast is less about "flashy ads" and more about authority and trust.
* Case Study Creation: Developing high-quality brochures and videos that showcase completed projects, emphasizing the precision and finish of the precast elements.
* CPD & Seminars: Organizing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions for architects and structural engineers to educate them on how to design for precast.
* Digital Presence: Maintaining a LinkedIn presence or website that highlights the factory's capacity, certifications (like ISO or PCI), and sustainability (reduced site waste).
* Market Intelligence: Tracking competitors' pricing and keeping an eye on raw material fluctuations (cement, steel) that impact market rates.
3. Relationship Management (CRM)
Since the construction industry relies heavily on repeat business, this is the "bread and butter" of the role.
* Stakeholder Mapping: Building deep ties not just with the "Buyer," but with the Project Manager, the Consultant, and the Site Engineer.
* Feedback Loops: Visiting active sites to ensure the precast elements are being installed correctly and gathering feedback for the production team.
* After-Sales Support: Managing any claims regarding transit damage or dimensional variances promptly to maintain the brand's reputation.
