Senior Engineer - Rebar

Job Summary

Responsible for preparing BBS, planning and supervising reinforcement works, and ensuring accurate and timely execution of rebar activities in high?rise residential building projects. Ensures compliance with drawings, standards, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) based on structural drawings and issue to rebar yard/contractors.
• Execute and supervise reinforcement works for columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, cores, footings, and staircases.
• Ensure correct bar diameters, spacing, laps, anchorage, bends, hooks, and cover blocks as per IS codes.
• Coordinate with formwork, concrete, and MEP teams to ensure proper sequencing and avoid rework.
• Mobilize required resources including rebar, tools, manpower, and consumables as per daily/weekly plans.
• Monitor rebar yard operations (cutting, bending, tagging, bundling) to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Conduct checks before concreting and raise RFI for consultant/engineer approval.
• Manage material tracking, consumption monitoring, and rebar reconciliation with stores and subcontractors.
• Ensure safety compliance during cutting, bending, tying, lifting, and handling of reinforcement.
• Prepare daily progress reports and highlight delays or shortages to the engineer/section in?charge.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 5–12 years of reinforcement execution experience in high?rise residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • BBS preparation
  • Structural drawings and detailing
  • IS codes for reinforcement
  • Cover, lap, anchorage & tying methods
• Good supervision, resource planning, coordination, and problem?solving skills.
