The Government and public sector transactions services is part of EY's Government & Public Sector (GPS) Services which is a network of highly skilled professionals from assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services, devoted to serving the government and public sector organizations and institutions.

The practice combines private sector leading practice with an understanding of the public sector’s diverse needs, focused on delivering improved public services. Government and public sector transactions services, sits under EY’s Transaction Advisory Services practice, a market-leading, multi-disciplinary team, working with leading businesses across a range of industries. This practice is in a unique position to deliver implementable strategies given the firm’s sector depth, transaction perspectives, and operational insights.

The practice provides experience working with various sectors such as, Transport, Social & Health care, Education, Urban & Infrastructure, Economic Development Advisory , Water waste & Sanitation, Power & Utilities and Public Finance & Management.


SaT - TCF - Lead Advisory-Project Finance :

Strategy and Transactions enables clients to reimagine ecosystems, reshape portfolios and reinvent for a better future. We help corporates, private equity, governments, sovereign wealth funds, private and family businesses, and educational institutions with their key financial issues. Our team helps clients manage their risk/return trade-offs to support them with better decision-making around financing and capital efficiency.

Your key responsibilities

Technical Excellence


Conduct demand forecasting to anticipate electricity needs and ensure adequate supply.
Perform due diligence on electricity distribution projects to assess feasibility and compliance with regulations.
Assess and analyze losses in the distribution network, including technical and non-technical losses, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
Develop and implement revenue enhancement measures across the Metering, Billing, Collection and Infrastructure front.
Develop comprehensive process manuals for connection and revenue management for electricity distribution operations.
Monitor performance metrics and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
Prepare investment proposals for infrastructure upgrades and expansions in the electricity distribution network.
Develop Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for new initiatives and projects within the distribution sector.
Conduct Feeder Segregation and Distribution Renewable Energy (RE) feasibility studies to evaluate the integration of renewable sources into the distribution network.
Develop MIS dashboards to monitor key performance metrics for the utilities.
Monitoring of functional KPIs and data analytics preferably on PowerBI tool
Analysis of daily power position scenario and its analysis for optimisation of power procurement
Assessment & monitoring of performance of technical (substations), commercial, financial and regulatory functions
Undertaking demand forecast, developing process manuals for various power distribution processes such as new connection, metering billing & collection etc
Review of investments proposal and their prioritization
