Solar Technician

Job Summary:

The Solar Technician is responsible for installing, testing, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar power systems. This includes rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and related electrical components. The role ensures systems operate safely, efficiently, and as per standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, batteries, and wiring as per project specifications
• Perform system testing, commissioning, and performance checks
• Conduct routine maintenance and preventive servicing of solar power plants
• Identify and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system faults
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and site safety guidelines
• Maintain daily work reports, service records, and material usage
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and site teams during project execution
• Assist in site surveys and system inspections when required
• Educate clients/end-users on basic system operation and maintenance

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical components
• Understanding of DC & AC electrical systems
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and layout drawings
• Familiarity with inverters, charge controllers, and battery systems
• Problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills

Qualifications:

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Renewable Energy (preferred)
• Certification in Solar PV installation (added advantage)

Experience:

• 1–3 years of experience in solar installation or maintenance
• Freshers with technical training may also be considered

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to work at project sites and travel as required
• Ability to work at heights (rooftop installations)
• Physically fit and safety-conscious
