- Key Responsibilities:Prepare and cook a wide variety of authentic South Indian dishes, especially from Kongu Nadu cuisine (e.g., Pallipalayam Chicken, Kambu Koozh, Milagu Kozhi, Naatu Kozhi varieties, etc.).
- Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation according to restaurant standards.
- Handle dosa, idli, vada, and tiffin items preparation efficiently during breakfast and dinner hours.
- Cook South Indian meals for lunch including sambar, rasam, kootu, poriyal, kulambu varieties, and non-veg gravies.
- Prepare traditional snacks and accompaniments like vadai, bajji, chutneys, podis, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards as per FSSAI regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ingredient ordering and storage.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan daily specials and seasonal menus.
- Maintain proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Required Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience as a South Indian cook, preferably in a restaurant or hotel setting.
- Strong knowledge of Tamil Nadu cuisine, especially Kongu Nadu-style recipes.
- Ability to cook both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items.
- Skilled in working with traditional cooking equipment and techniques.
- Team player with good communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Basic understanding of food cost and kitchen efficiency is a plus.
- Work Hours:Split shifts or rotational shifts covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner operations.
- 6-day work week, with one weekly off.
