Job SummaryThe Design Manager will lead the mechanical and automation design team in developing innovative SPMs and customized automation systems. The role involves concept development, design validation, cross-functional coordination, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality machine designs that meet customer and application requirements.

• Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), jigs, fixtures, and automated systems.
• Collaborate with sales and project teams to translate customer requirements into feasible design solutions.
• Oversee conceptual design, 3D modeling, and detailed drafting using CAD tools (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
• Guide selection of actuators, sensors, pneumatics, robotics, and control systems in collaboration with the electrical and PLC teams.
• Conduct design feasibility, load and tolerance analysis, and ensure manufacturability of components.
• Review and approve BOMs, drawings, and engineering change requests.
• Coordinate with vendors and production teams for prototype building and design validation.
• Ensure compliance with industrial design standards, safety norms, and quality benchmarks.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes and innovation in automation solutions.
• Mentor and supervise a team of design engineers and draftsmen, fostering technical growth and discipline.
• QualificationsB.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• 7–12 years of experience in SPM design, machine automation, or related industries.
• Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Inventor.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, servo systems, and motion control.
• Familiar with PLC-based automation, sensors, and system integration.
• Good understanding of fabrication, machining, and assembly processes.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Preferred SkillsExposure to ultrasonic welding automation, robotic integration, and Industry 4.0 systems.
• Experience handling customer discussions, design reviews, and commissioning support.
• Strong documentation and technical report writing skills.
