Staff Nurse - Cath Lab

1 Assisting Physicians: Support cardiologists and other medical professionals during catheterization procedures, angioplasty, stent placements, and other cardiovascular interventions.

2 Operate Equipment: Proficiently operate and troubleshoot various Cath Lab equipment including fluoroscopy machines, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), hemodynamic monitoring systems, and angiography systems.

3 Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly on the examination table, and ensuring that all necessary pre-procedure protocols are followed.

4 Sterile Techniques: Maintain a sterile environment within the Cath Lab by adhering to infection control protocols, properly sterilizing equipment, and following established guidelines for aseptic techniques.

5 Monitor Patients: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, hemodynamic parameters, and electrocardiogram (ECG) readings throughout procedures, promptly alerting healthcare providers to any changes or concerns.

6 Assist with Sedation: Administer conscious sedation under the direction of a physician, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.

7 Documentation: Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and any complications that arise during Cath Lab procedures, maintaining thorough and organized medical records.

8 Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals including nurses, radiologic technologists, and cardiovascular technologists to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow within the Cath Lab.

9 Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities within the Cath Lab, including equipment maintenance, performance improvement initiatives, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Emergency Response: Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies or complications during procedures, following established protocols and assisting in the implementation of life-saving measures as needed.
