Sustainability specialist/ engineer

Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include analysis of sustainable and energy-efficient vertical transport design and operation, executing vertical transport compliance check for green building requirements, carbon calculations, and advising sustainable operational practices to support in customer tender requests.

  • Responsible for conducting customer tender specific environmental, energy, carbon footprint, and LCA calculations and analysis in a timely manner
    • For example, comparison of Energy calculations in Enercal/Engcalc, usage of QP-06453, LCA
  • Responsible for reviewing customer tender specification and identifying customer’s environmental needs in relation to KONE offering within the given scope and timeline
    • EX: If the customer demands green building specific requirements, the candidate should be capable understanding the requirements and replying them quickly which product would satisfy the needs of the customer
  • Responsible for delivering transparent environmental data from KONE suppliers and KONE manufacturing units used in customer tendering
    • Should be capable of informing the CSE/FL/Sales team why the product is recommended
  • Coaches and trains local experts in sustainability globally
  • Ensures adequate reporting and data collection, consolidation and analysis for customer tenders or environmental impact analysis for customers in various countries & markets by working closely with KONE Supply Chain
  • The candidate should be capable of understanding their requirements and collecting data from the stakeholders and stacking the data.  Whenever required, the same is to be retrieved and be informed.

Job requirements for Sustainability specialist/ engineer

  • Suitable university level degree (MS/ ME/ BS/ BE)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel or similar
  • General technical knowledge
  • Environmental, Mech, Electrical,
  • Strong experience in listing components & creating BOM structures
  • Some experience in carbon footprint & impact analysis is an asset
  • Can we develop this?
  • Some experience in environmental life cycle analysis
  • Knowledge of GHG protocol and energy & emissions reporting
  • Knowledge of EN 15804, ISO 14040 & ISO 14025 requirements
  • Project management skills
  • Good/ Excellent written and spoken English
  • Proven record of demanding project work in the customer interface is an asset
  • Independent working style and an active can do- attitude
  • A committed customer focused mindset
