What’s the role
The role involves individual contributor responsibilities, primarily as a preparer of material legal entities / AoO’s in UK. It requires very good stakeholder management skills, understanding of Direct tax compliance and reporting including deferred tax accounting.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensure sound HSSE practice in day-to-day work.
- Processes and systems
- Ensuring / Supporting Business/process responsibilities and ensuring the relevant MDT metrics are met
- Prepare material tax returns/tax reporting of UK companies and perform peer review
- Own and operate SOX & key Non SXO controls as applicable for material AoOs
- Proactively engage in strategizing the MDT process systems & data requirements and participate in initiatives for systems and process changes
- Understand Group Accounting and Reporting changes to enable incorporation of such changes in the process as may be relevant
- Proactively engage in issues like ownership of Work Instructions & Training framework and ensuring that the same are kept updated and robust
- Identify potential CI opportunity and implement them to achieve the organizational objectives
- Ensure correct and timely escalations of process exceptions or tolerance/variances and their resolution with feeder processes/business
- Proactively engage and maintain strong stakeholder and business connectivity
- Manage and coach team members operationally/functionally and passionately invest time in developing team members.
What you bring
- The role is technically demanding and requires strong knowledge of one or more tax jurisdictions (knowledge of UK tax will be advantage)
- Recognized professional qualification and a member of a recognized accounting body with >4 years broad professional experience.
- Work experience of migrated tax / finance activity in multinational companies or professional firms would be preferable or CA (Inter)
- Bachelors or Masters in Finance degree with >5 years broad professional experience out of which minimum 2 years of experience in migrated tax / finance activity in multinational companies or professional firms
- UK GAAP, IFRS and Tax Accounting practices
- Various Control Frameworks including SOX controls and controls in a tax environment
- Working knowledge of various ERP systems and excellent MS Office skills. Ability to understand architecture of various IT systems and tools and use same to guide team to lead various efficiency (Automation, CI etc) initiatives
- Effective influencing skills and communicator of complex tax compliance issues; both written and oral.
- Ability to understand & prepare large corporate tax returns having material adjustments, provisions and operate controls.
- Ability to multitask, plan and priorities across various tasks
- Ability to articulate technical and process related aspects with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and Group Reporting.
