VisionPlus Tester with Payment Schemes Expertise

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced VisionPlus Tester to lead the functional testing of Visa and Mastercard schemes within our financial technology testing team. The role involves executing comprehensive test strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the quality and reliability of VisionPlus-based solutions. Contributing to innovation and process improvements, this position supports the organization’s goal of delivering secure, compliant, and high-performing card processing systems.

Software Requirements

Required:

• Deep understanding of VisionPlus Functional Application Suites (FAS), specifically for Visa and Mastercard schemes

• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies, including experience with tools such as JIRA, Git, and Confluence

• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, or equivalent) for testing purposes

• Exposure to mobile, cloud, IoT, or blockchain technologies is advantageous

Preferred:

• Certifications related to Testing, QA processes, or Emerging Technologies

• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI)

Overall Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive functional testing of VisionPlus FAS across multiple card schemes to validate process workflows, compliance, and security standards

• Develop and review test plans, test cases, and detailed documentation for new and existing functionalities

• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and design effective test strategies

• Participate in defect management activities, including bug tracking, reporting, and retesting

• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and updates to VisionPlus systems, and suggest enhancements to testing procedures and tools

• Review code and configurations for quality, maintainability, and compliance with best practices

Technical Skills (By Category)

Programming Languages:

• Essential: Java, Python, or scripting languages used for test automation

• Preferred: Experience with SQL for backend data validation

Databases/Data Management:

• Knowledge of database querying (SQL or NoSQL) for test data verification and validation

Cloud Technologies:

• Familiarity with working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure for testing deployment and integration scenarios

Frameworks and Libraries:

• Experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or equivalent automation tools for functional testing

Development Tools and Methodologies:

• Use of version control (Git), issue tracking (JIRA), and documentation tools (Confluence)

• Agile methodologies, including participation in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

Security Protocols:

• Basic understanding of security testing practices relevant to payment systems and card schemes

Experience Requirements

• 3 to 4 years of experience in QA/testing roles, with a focus on financial systems and card schemes (Visa, Mastercard)

• Proven experience executing and managing functional, regression, and integration testing for card processing or banking systems

• Demonstrated success working within Agile teams and utilizing test automation tools

• Experience mentoring junior team members is a plus

• Alternative experience: Extensive hands-on testing experience with core banking or payment systems in lieu of direct Visa/Mastercard experience

Day-to-Day Activities

• Participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and review sessions

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and create detailed test cases

• Execute manual and automated tests, document results, and report defects in tracking tools

• Contribute to continuous improvement by refining testing strategies and automation scripts

• Provide technical support to team members, troubleshoot issues, and verify defect fixes

• Review system configurations, perform data validation, and ensure compliance with industry standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, Certified Software Tester, or specific banking/financial system QA certifications beneficial

• Commitment to ongoing skill development in emerging testing tools and financial technologies
