Job description for Utility operator/technician

Utility operator must be Completed the 3 years course of RAC course Utility operator

must be in-depth knowledge of refrigeration system Utility opeartor able to trouble

shoot the problem indepedently. Finding the root cause & remidies for non

recurrence.

2) Utility operator should be familiar with Ammonia refrigiration system Carry out the

precheck before start the chiller & record the same.

3) Need to to confirm all the interlocks are healthy before starting the chiller Start &

stop the chiller as per SOP.

4) Monitored the chiller parameter durring the running & keep record in the log book

i.e suction /discharge /oil/intermidiate pressure. Inlet/out let temp. Monitored the any

abnormaities during the running conditions.

5) Maintain the temparature as per process requirement. Keep coordination between

the production for coming cooling load to prepare in advance. Load & unload the

system by keeping track of plant load & temparature to avoid run the chiller

unnecessarly which affects on power consumption.

6) Carried out the maintenance of compressores base on the running hrs as per

guide line of the OEM. Keep the record of the same. Charging the ammonia to

maintain the required level of gas in the system Attend the gas leakages of system

on priority. Send the sample of Brine solution /Cooling tower water to Q/C for

analysis & keep the record.

7) Maintain the Sp. Gravity of Brine -1.04 Carry out the water treatment for Cooling

tower to maintain desired PH/TH/TDS.& record the same. Carry out the preventive

maintenace of pumps as per schedule.

8) Keep the stand-by pumps in healthy condition for the emergency requirements.

Carry out the filter cleaning of the Nitrogen plant as per schedule.

9) Monitored the operation of valves for proper functioning.

10) Keep the record of Air pressure/Air temp./N2 pressure & o2 level in log book.

Carry uot the Preventive maintenance of Nitrogen Plant as per OEM guidelines.

11) Clean the air filter of air compressor daily. Check the oil level /Temp.of screw

compressor/Loading ,unloading hrs & record the same in log book.

12) Carry out the Preventive maintenance of Air Compressort as per OEM

guidelines. Maintain the Critical spares required for emergency .

1. Inspects and performs preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to a wide variety of

mechanical and electronic equipment, e.g., disassembles, cleans, lubricates, and replaces equipment

parts as needed; makes minor mechanical repairs.

2. Monitors equipment and takes reading at designated intervals; tracks the status of the system and

prepares reports that account for equipment performance.

3. Records and reports defects or failures in gas, electricity, or water; immediately responds and

reports water and gas.

4. Performs laboratory water chemistry testing and chemical treatment for all systems.

7. Performs scheduled plant inspections, and records observations in the facility logbook.

8. Monitors system performance and starts and stops equipment as required.

9. Ensures the plant’s utilities are properly functioning to receive steam, chilled water, hot water,

compressed air, electricity, and gas.

10. Maintains corrosion protection, reduces scaling in boilers and ensures bacteria levels are

maintained at safe levels.

11. Responds and completes work orders; maintains daily shift production logs.

12. Operates and maintains the boilers, steam turbine, compressors, chiller, CLS system, RO water

system, Cooling Tower, and pumps to effectively run processes and equipment.
